Working with Us

Partnerships are at the heart of GreenCentre’s mandate, and we provide research and development services to three distinct customer segments, each with different needs and financial means:

  1. Academics and primary researchers
  2. Small companies and entrepreneurs
  3. Large and medium-sized corporations

Formed in 2009 and funded by the Government of Ontario, the Government of Canada, and various industry partners, GreenCentre is a member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE) and the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR). GreenCentre is headquartered at Innovation Park at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

GreenCentre Canada operates in two state-of-the-art facilities in Ontario for the development of chemical technologies—on both small and large scales.

GreenCentre’s Kingston-based headquarters contains 8,000 square feet of laboratory space specially designed for small-scale, bench-top chemistry innovation and offers a full suite of fume hoods, glove boxes, and analytical instrumentation in addition to several walk-in scale-up bays. Within this facility, our scientists develop practical and sustainable solutions to de-risking and advancing green chemistry technologies.

GreenCentre Canada recently partnered with the Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) in Mississauga to access more than 40 years of expertise in commercial scale-up and pilot unit operations. The partnership includes access to XRCC’s 24,000-square-foot pilot unit facilities with a wide range of reactors (up to 2,000 litres), processing equipment, and separation/purification capabilities.
